Love is…

Love was…

Love was the feeling of butterflies and eternal happiness. Love was the sun beaming on your face at every moment of the day. It was the warm fuzzies we all can’t explain. It was the smile that went from ear to ear! Love was a dream, love was a wishing and a wanting. Love was happiness, love was joy, love was what we all want at the end of the day.

Love is…

Love is hard! Love is a commitment. Love is being able to take pain day in and day out. Love is real. Love is being able to want to understand someone for who they are and not trying to change them. Love is the acceptance of grace. Love is being able to move past what is here today and travel toward a future that will always be brighter. Love is tough. Love is serious. Love is …

1 Corinthians 14: 4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  8 Love never fails

Love will be..

Love will be what you make of it. Love will be what you want for not just you, but what you want for you and the one you love. Love is patient, wait for it. Love is kind, be nice and willing to be hurt even if for a while. Love does not envy, I want nothing more than to love the one I am with. Love does not boast, for I am who you are. Love is not proud, because you are proud for me and that is all I need. Love does not dishonor others, but that must be a two way street. Love is not self-seeking, love is about two in nature, but three in my spirit. Love is not easily angered, but words hurt and forgiveness brings a new beginning every time.  Love keeps no record of wrongs, so why do we keep bringing up the things from yesterday. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth; the truth is what we make it today not what we believe in our heads. Love always protects, so I put on my armor everyday and I look to God for guidance through the battle. Love always trusts, so why do we run every time things don’t work out the way we want it to? Love always hopes, and I hope things will always be better tomorrow than they were today. Love always preserves, so we always want to come home at the end of the day. Love never fails, but the pain is sometimes too much to bear.

Marriage is the foundation for a new birthing between two people led by God. Marriage is a covenant and is bigger than a promise, bigger than a commitment. Marriage is forever and must be respected by all. Marriage is work and work is where we falter.

My dedication to the one I love is that I will work hard everyday to make our lives the best that it can be. I will cry, sweat, bleed, and mourn for our family in order to preserve what we have. I will take everyday one day at a time and place my life in your hands again and again and I hope that you will do the same.

(21 days and counting)
