Engagement Shoots! by Asmithphoto.net

Mr. William Smith from Augustus Smith Photography and Design did an excellent job in shooting an engagement session for us recently.

Please take a look at his excellent work. Feel free to pick up a copy of any image you like as we want to share with our family and friends.

The Couple

Aleasha’s thoughts:

The first time we met was at New Life Worship Centre in Lansdowne, PA.  We both attended the church, but didn’t have many conversations.  We mainly said hi and bye when we saw each other.  Every time I saw Kairi at church he was busy; busy videotaping the service, taking photographs, preparing and playing the music, or just doing many other things, so I never had a chance to talk to him.

One day, I decided that I wanted to make some upgrades to my outdated, antiquated electrical system and I was asking people if they had any referrals and Kairi’s name was mentioned.  All of the time I saw him at church, I didn’t know he was an electrician.   Our pastor gave Kairi my information to call me about the estimate and after he gave me the price I said, “no way that’s too expensive”.  I didn’t hire Kairi, and after that we just had sparadic casual conversations and went back to business as usual.

Fast forwarding several months later, our pastors asked us to lead the Singles ministry and we both accepted.  We had no choice but to talk to each now, so we worked together coordinating and planning many activities and events which allowed us to interact with each oher.  Although we talked more, we were so focused on the tasks that we barely got to know each other outside of that.

As time went on , Kairi asked me to assist with coordinating his customer appreciation dinner.  I agreed, and we started working on this project. I had frequent conversations and meetings with Kairi. Throughout this process, we looked at everything from a client/vendor prospective.  We had a timeline, spreadsheets, and documented action plans and it was not fun and games. Basically, we kept everything business and professional. FYI…the event was very successful because of my help 🙂

Kairi and I talked to each other periodicaly after the event, but not that often.  I had a problem with my laptop and I was thinking about who to call.  Kairi Purnell popped in my head and I gave him a call.  He answered the phone and I asked him if he could look at it, and he said sure.  I brought the laptop to his house and we started watching the presidential debate with President Obama.  We had a long conversation about the race and then I went home.  Shortly after, Kairi called me to pick up my computer and I forgot to respond.  After 3 months, Kairi called again to ask me if I wanted my computer, and that he could bring it to me because he was coming my way.  I said yes, and then Kairi asked me if I wanted to grab something to eat.  I agreed and we went to Bertucci.  We had great conversation, laughs and just good ole’ fun.

All of these things, have helped me to understand Kairi better and I’ve learned to understand, appreciate and love him for who he is. As dicussed throughout, we have been put together by others and by contacting each other, but at the end, we were together.  I know we were put together as a part of God’s plan. To be honest, through these interactions, I thought Kairi was not very friendly, and was just about work and no play, but I’ve since learned that he has a great sense of humor, is fun, supportive, caring, loving and just an awesome person.  I love Kairi very much and look forward to us growing old together.

Kairi:

Their first meeting related to upgrading her electrical system but of course Aleasha thought the price was too high!
